What is the difference between self-cooling variable frequen
source:未知 time:2024-12-24 09:54nbsp; click:
Motor self-cooling means that the motor rotor has its own fan blades, and the fan blades rotate together during the operation of the motor to play a cooling role. Forced cooling is forced cooling by the motor with an external cooling fan.
Ordinary three-phase AC asynchronous motors all use self-cooling. When self-cooling cannot make the heat and heat dissipation of the motor reach thermal balance, forced cooling must be used. For example, variable frequency motors, DC motors, etc. generally use forced cooling.
However, there is a misunderstanding that variable frequency motors are equal to forced cooling variable frequency motors. In fact, under many load conditions, we do not need forced cooling variable frequency motors (IC416), and self-fan cooling variable frequency motors (IC411) can meet the needs.
Below I will give a brief introduction to self-fan cooling variable frequency motors and forced cooling variable frequency motors.
From the appearance, the fan-cooled variable frequency motor (IC411) is no different from ordinary motors. However, when designing this type of motor, it is necessary to fully consider the impact of the peak voltage output by the inverter on the motor insulation system, as well as the shaft current and electromagnetic harmonics generated after variable frequency operation. Therefore, the biggest difference between it and ordinary motors is the three points mentioned above. Compared with ordinary motors, it has a significant improvement. Because the cooling effect of the fan of this motor decreases as the motor speed decreases, the user load is required to decrease as the motor speed decreases before it can be used. This load is generally called variable torque load in the industry.
Strong cooling variable frequency motor (IC416) refers to a motor that uses variable frequency power supply, and the speed changes greatly when the motor changes operation, and is operated by forced cooling. The biggest feature of this motor during operation is that the speed of the motor's cooling fan will not change with the change of the motor speed, so its cooling effect will not decrease as the motor speed decreases. In many constant torque applications, we will see a large number of such motors, which is determined by the characteristics of the load torque. Because constant torque operation requires the motor to output a large power to drive the load to rotate even when the motor is running at a low speed. When a large power is output at a low speed, the heat generated by the motor increases. If strong cooling and frequency conversion are not used, the cooling effect of the motor will be greatly reduced, which will naturally easily lead to the burning of the motor.
