How to effectively avoid motor burnout?
source:未知 time:2024-12-06 09:06nbsp; click:
1. Ensure the normal operation of the starting equipment
The technical status of the motor starting equipment plays a decisive role in the normal starting of the motor. Practice has shown that the vast majority of burnt motors are caused by abnormal operation of the starting equipment. For example, the starting equipment starts with a phase loss, the contactor contacts arc, spark, etc. The maintenance of the starting equipment is mainly cleaning and tightening. If the contactor contacts are not clean, the contact resistance will increase, causing heat to burn the contacts, resulting in phase loss and burning the motor; the iron core of the contactor attraction coil is rusted and dusty, which will cause the coil to be loosely attracted and produce strong noise, increase the coil current, burn the coil and cause a fault.
2. Always keep the motor clean
When the motor is running, dust, water stains and other debris are not allowed within at least 3m around the air inlet to prevent them from being sucked into the motor, forming a short-circuit medium, or damaging the insulation layer of the wire, causing a short circuit, increasing the current, and increasing the temperature to burn the motor. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the motor has sufficient insulation resistance and a good ventilation and cooling environment to keep the motor in a safe and stable working state during long-term operation.
3. Keep the motor working at rated current
The main reason for the motor overload operation is that the drag load is too large, the voltage is too low, or the driven machinery is stuck. If the overload time is too long, the motor will absorb a large amount of active power from the power grid, the current will increase sharply, and the temperature will rise accordingly. At high temperatures, the insulation of the motor will age and burn. Therefore, when the motor is running, it is necessary to pay attention to frequently check whether the transmission device is flexible and reliable; whether the concentricity of the coupling is standard; the flexibility of the gear transmission, etc. If there is a stuck phenomenon, it should be stopped immediately to find out the cause and troubleshoot before running again.
4. Frequently check whether the three-phase current of the motor is balanced
For three-phase asynchronous motors, the difference between the current of any one phase and the average value of the other two currents is not allowed to exceed 10%, so as to ensure the safe operation of the motor. If it exceeds, it means that the motor is faulty and must be found out.
5. Observe whether the motor has vibration, noise and abnormal smell. If the motor vibrates, it will cause the non-concentricity of the load part connected to it to increase, resulting in an increase in the load of the motor. If the motor is overloaded, it will burn the motor. Therefore, when the motor is running, especially the high-power motor, it is necessary to check whether the anchor bolts, motor end cover, bearing cover, etc. are loose, whether the grounding device is reliable, and solve the problem in time. Noise and odor are precursors to abnormal operation of the motor and subsequent serious failures. They must be discovered and the causes must be found at any time to eliminate them. 6. Check the temperature of the motor. Check the temperature of the bearings, stators, housings and other parts of the motor frequently for abnormal changes. Especially for motors without voltage, current and frequency monitoring and overload protection, monitoring of temperature rise is more important. Whether the motor bearing is overheated or lacks oil. If the temperature rise near the bearing is found to be too high, it should be stopped immediately for inspection. Whether there are cracks, scratches or damage on the rolling elements and raceway surfaces of the bearings, whether the bearing clearance is too large and shaking, whether the inner ring rotates on the shaft, etc. Any of the above phenomena occurs. The bearings must be renewed before operation can be resumed.
Therefore, the electrical control cabinet should be located in a dry, ventilated and easy-to-operate location, and dust should be removed regularly. Check frequently whether the contactor contacts, coil core, and various wiring screws are reliable, and whether the mechanical parts are flexible, so as to keep them in good technical condition, thereby ensuring smooth startup without burning the motor.
